## Project license

Minecraft Charts is distributed under CC BY-NC-SA 3.0. This non-commercial, share-alike license was selected because the app includes a derivative vertical re-layout of material from the Minecraft Wiki Fandom Altitude page.

## Minecraft Wiki Altitude material

- Used for: the Java Edition 1.20.2 Nether and End source CSVs and their selected interactive series.
- Method: each selected dimension is independently normalized to a maximum relative distribution index of 900. Values are useful within a dimension and are not raw block counts or cross-dimension comparisons.
- The raw data and any associated source-specific terms are not relicensed by this repository. Preserve this attribution and consult the source before reuse outside this project.

## Minecraft resource textures

- Source: Mojang's Java Edition 26.3 client, the current stable release at retrieval, located through the [official version manifest](https://piston-meta.mojang.com/mc/game/version_manifest_v2.json); metadata and client SHA-1 checksums verified before extraction.
- Retrieved: 2026-09-29.
- Used for: one shared icon per resource in `workspace/assets/resources/` (26 resources plus the grass-block chart label; Ores reuses the coal-ore texture), including block-face textures and the End sky texture for End gateway. Icons use modern textures independently of the selected chart's data version.
- Changes: animated water/lava textures use the first square frame; untinted water receives a blue presentation tint; grass-block sides receive the standard green overlay tint; other textures are unchanged. Browser presentation scales them to 20px with nearest-neighbor rendering.
- These game textures belong to Mojang/Microsoft and are not relicensed under this repository's CC BY-NC-SA license. See the [Minecraft usage guidelines](https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/usage-guidelines).

## Heroicons share icon

The chart-heading Share view and Download SVG buttons use the outline share and camera icons from [Heroicons](https://github.com/tailwindlabs/heroicons), copyright Tailwind Labs, Inc., under the MIT License. The complete license is included at `assets/icons/heroicons-LICENSE.txt` in the published app. The SVGs are embedded inline with decorative accessibility attributes.
